Ziedoņdārzs is a neighbourhood garden created among Riga’s residential blocks in the 1930s. Its linden avenue, flowerbeds and frog fountain reflect landscape architect Andrejs Zeidaks’s vision of green space for everyday city life.
Guide
A line of linden trees leads towards a fountain with small frogs in Ziedoņdārzs. Apartment blocks and older houses surround this Riga garden, but its planting creates a green interior for the neighbourhood. It was designed in the 1930s for people who lived and worked nearby.
