Museum "Jews in Latvia"

The Museum “Jews in Latvia” documents Jewish life, culture and the Holocaust in Latvia. Founded by survivors in 1989, it is housed in the Riga Jewish Community building on Skolas Street.

Guide preview

The Museum “Jews in Latvia” began with a determination to preserve evidence that might otherwise disappear. In 1989 a group of Holocaust survivors led by historian Marģers Vestermanis founded it to collect the material and memories of Jewish life in Latvia. Its exhibition is in the Riga Jewish Community building on Skolas Street, a place still connected with community life.
