Patiltes galerija is an open-air street-art project on bridge supports in Riga’s Čiekurkalns neighbourhood, bringing works by several artists into an everyday urban transport landscape.
Guide preview
At the point where Gustava Zemgala gatve crosses Čiekurkalna 1. līnija, bridge supports have served as the surfaces for an open-air street-art project. Patiltes galerija, or Gallery Under the Bridge, turns a part of the transport landscape into a place to look at paintings. It is spread across supports rather than housed in a conventional gallery, and the works can be seen from different angles as visitors move through the space.
