SongSpace is an exhibition on Latvia’s song and dance celebration tradition at the Mežaparks Great Bandstand. It combines a replica festival flag, personal memories, recordings and multimedia installations.
Guide preview
The flag at SongSpace is a copy, and that distinction matters. The original Līgo flag is fragile and remains in the Museum of the History of Riga and Navigation. A carefully made replica at this exhibition lets visitors encounter a symbol carried at the head of the Latvian song festival procession while the original is protected.
